Senior dogs have the hardest road in the American shelter system. They face just a 25% adoption rate — less than half that of younger dogs — and are consistently the last chosen, the longest waiting, and the most likely to be euthanized simply because of their age. Every day, dogs who spent a lifetime loving people are abandoned on the street, surrendered by owners who can no longer care for them, or left to face high-kill shelters completely alone.

Gracie's Dog Haven is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built to change that story. We rescue unwanted, abused, neglected, and abandoned senior dogs — pulling them from high-kill shelters, unsafe environments, owner surrenders, and the streets — because we believe no dog should ever have to suffer or die alone on a cement floor or a sidewalk.

Gracie's Dog Haven was founded on a simple conviction: a dog's final years should be defined by comfort, not fear — by love, not loneliness. Every senior who comes through our doors is given a true forever home, where they can rest, heal, and simply be loved for exactly who they are, for however many years — or months — they have left. Here, they receive the veterinary care, nourishment, and gentle routine every aging body needs, alongside the unconditional affection every soul deserves.

And when the time comes, each one crosses the Rainbow Bridge surrounded by that same tenderness — with dignity, with grace, and knowing, without question, that they were deeply oved.
